This training is for teachers interested in adapting yoga practices for special populations, including but not limited to, students with chronic low back pain, shoulder, knee and joint pain, osteopenia/osteoporosis, people recovering from injury or surgery, seniors and more.

You will learn how to adapt asana and breath practices for individual needs. Extensive use of props will be covered including the chair for all mobility levels. Students will learn appropriate sequencing for floor (in-bed movements), chair, at the wall and standing practices.

Linda Becker is a Certified Yoga Therapist C-IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists) with over 800 hours of training and 13 years of teaching.

Reiki is an energy practice to help bring the body into balance and promote self-healing. In this class you will receive the Level 1 attunements and learn how to treat yourself, family, friends and pets. You will receive ample “hands on” experience. Benefits are many, but relaxation, better sleep and improved digestion are at the top of the list.

EVERYONE can be attuned to Reiki. No prerequisites required!

Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep, is a state of consciousness between wakefulness and sleep. This ancient practice is a fully guided meditation practice that is a powerful relaxation technique. The practice of yoga nidra is completely accessible to everyone.

Some benefits of yoga nidra/body sensing include reduced stress, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, and enhanced mood and well-being. 

This 45 hour immersion is designed to provide you with the basic principles, theory, history, and practice of yoga nidra/body sensing techniques, and allow you to incorporate this practice into your personal life. 

You will learn different tiers of body sensing protocol, with significant time spent honing your delivery skills to groups and individuals. You will learn to skillfully lead this meditation technique as part of a yoga class, private session, or as a stand alone yoga nidra practice.

A daily personal practice is required,  and weekly practice teaching this technique to others.

The Art of Teaching Restorative Yoga

This training will leave you feeling confident when offering restorative practices in a variety of settings to a wide range of students. You will learn to offer a full restorative yoga class, incorporate restorative postures into other yoga classes, or integrate into private therapeutic sessions. You will develop a restorative personal practice.

You will deepen your skills and knowledge in using therapeutic application of restoratives when working with students suffering from chronic pain or illness, injury, emotional or mental challenges, and other stressors.

This training will include:

*techniques for teaching all major categories of restorative poses                            *application, alignment and propping of restorative poses
*teaching restorative poses with minimal props
*an understanding of the nervous system, the subtle energy body and the koshas in restorative poses
*the therapeutics of restorative poses and adapting propping & practices for individual needs
*lecture, discussion, and demonstration
*ample time for direct experience of the practices
*ample time to practice teach to individuals and groups
*weekly assignments for personal practice and practice teaching
